What the app adds
Status where you stand
The app can use your phone's precise location, so you get the answer for the spot you are standing on.
Notifications
Get a notification on your phone when burning closes where you live or on a day you registered to burn.
When you lose signal
The app shows the last status it had and how old it is. An old answer is never shown as Allowed. Check in needs a connection, because we must confirm the live status.
No app? Use the website
Everything works on beforeyouburn.com in any phone or computer browser: check the status, register a burn, check in and report that it is out. You do not need to download anything.
What you can do
- Check the burn status at your location or any address.
- Register a burn and check in on the day.
- Say "I'm not burning", or report that your fire is out.
- See your fire agency's contact details and call them.
The app and the website are free, in English and Spanish.
