Agencies and partners

Fire and air-quality agencies set the burning rules that BeforeYouBurn shows. These organizations support the program.

Partners

  • Oregon Department of Forestry. A grant from the Oregon Department of Forestry funded the first launch of BeforeYouBurn.
  • Keep Oregon Green Association. Supports free coverage for Oregon fire departments and public outreach.
  • Western Fire Chiefs Association.
  • USDA Forest Service.
  • Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Air-quality rules for burning in parts of Oregon.

Fire agencies

Fire districts and departments across Oregon publish their burning rules on BeforeYouBurn, from small rural districts to city departments such as Redmond Fire and Rescue. To see the agencies that cover your address, check your address: the status page lists each one with its contact details.

If your agency is not on BeforeYouBurn yet

Some agencies have not set up their rules yet. Where an agency that covers your address has not, the answer is Unknown, and we show that agency's name and public contact so you can call them. Never assume you can burn when the answer is Unknown.
